Taking A Sleep Vacation

Taking a sleep vacation is becoming a more and more popular thing to do in this day and age. Everybody is constantly on the go and sometimes we put sleep at the bottom of our to do list. It is important to your overall well being to get a goods nights rest and to energize your body. If you are feeling sleep deprived, perhaps you are in need of a weekend dedicated to nothing but catching up on sleep!

If you want to go all out, some hotels dedicate themselves to their guests getting a good night’s rest by having people working around the clock catering to your every sleep related need. If you need a glass of warm milk,  there will be someone at your door to deliver it to you. If you need a fluffier pillow,  they’ll bring it to you.

If you don’t want to spend the money renting a hotel room then you obviously have another option!  Do it in the comfort of your own home! There are several things that you should do before you dive into sleep to ensure that the quality of sleep you get is top notch:

  • While meditation isn’t for everybody, it is a great tool that you can use to relax and get rid of some stress that might prevent you from falling asleep.
  • Shut your blinds, close your door, and shut off all the lights and anything that can distract you from getting to sleep.
  • If you live with other people, inform them what you are doing and tell them to stay quiet and you do not want to be disturbed.
  • Eliminate all distractions from your room, this includes any messes or clutter that are in your room, the clock, your cell phone and anything else that might keep you up.
  • Set the stage for a perfect sleep: clean sheets, fresh pajamas, and the perfect sleep temperature.
  • Take a day or two out of your busy schedule and dedicate it to catching up on your well deserved, precious sleep.
